The Quest 1 was an important milestone in the journey of VR adoption, and as the first truly standalone device, it was also important for Gravity Sketch and the community. However, there have been many newer generations of Quest headsets launched since, and Quest 1 devices have not been sold since 2020.

Given Meta’s plans to discontinue maintenance and support for the Quest 1 after 2024, we have decided to also take steps to stop supporting the device from Q4 2024 (exact date to be confirmed). This is to ensure that our users are able to experience a correctly functioning app across all supported devices.

As such, Quest 1 users will no longer be able to download Gravity Sketch from the app store, and we will no longer be shipping updates for the Quest 1.

Although most of our users have since upgraded to newer devices, we appreciate there are some who will still be using Gravity Sketch on the Quest 1. For these existing users, we will be providing the option to continue using the app offline.

We will release more details on how to continue using the app offline and the exact date Quest 1 will no longer be supported in the coming weeks.

We appreciate your support so far, and if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to support@gravitysketch.com and we will be happy to help.
